Sonja Radin from the vicinity of Poreč, is the owner of the family farm Radin, which she took over from her mother to engage in agriculture since she retired.
I work in agriculture, growing fruits and vegetables. Our pensions are small, so market sales come in handy. We have raspberries, hot peppers, watermelons, tomatoes, leeks, eggplants, beans, legumes, beans, potatoes, onions, garlic, chard, fennel, cucumbers … just a little bit. I am selling at the market, and from this year also through the web market.
I have always been involved in agriculture which was inherited from my parents, and I have been selling in the market since I retired, now for almost 15 years. My husband helps me with my work, and we have lands in the vicinity of Poreč and Tara. My grandchildren also help me, but rarely, when they arrive, considering that school is their first obligation!
Going to the market is part of our culture and people always like to buy something fresh and local. Especially foreigners when they come to Istria. More people went to the market until there were no shopping malls, but the charm of the market still holds. I do this out of love, but also to make it easier to live in the old days.– Sonja Radin, OPG Radin
Part of the production takes place outdoors, and part under greenhouse production. In addition to the production of fruits and vegetables, they are also engaged in the production of seedlings.
Poj na markat je dio naše kulture i ljudi uvijek vole kupiti nešto svježe i lokalno. Osobito stranci kada dođu u Istru.– Sonja Radin
