Istra and balanced living ∇

Istra is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Kvarner Gulf.

Life should not be stressful and full of long meetings. Food should not be just fast food and without passion. Buildings should not be just of steel and without soul. Life should not be just in front of television or touch screen. It should not be routine and boring.

Istra is about easy and simple life filled with love and joy. Istra is about having friends at the dinner table with delicious food made with passion. Life should be about exploring and being amazed by Istria.

A product or a service made in Istria means it was made by respecting people, their way of balanced life and high standards of labour/workers’ rights. It also means high quality and made with passion since the people were respected along the whole process.

Balanced living

Balanced living means considering all aspects of your life: relationships, work, fitness and health, and emotional well-being.

We all get bogged down with work and family responsibilities from time to time, but making time for yourself is necessary so that you can keep up with all your responsibilities.

Life in Istria is often consider to be “life as it should be” – balanced between hard work, family and enjoyment (often in food, nature or with friends and family). People from all over the world are coming to Istria to experience such a way of life. But do not be mistaken – Istria has much more than just tourism. It has a well-developed processing industry, construction industry, trade, sea fishing and fish growing, agriculture, transportation, creative and IT industry.

Why “∇”?

The triangle portraits Istria in three ways – geographically, symbolically and in business.

The first reason is that Istra is geographically in a shape of a triangle. On the north-east side is the Učka mountain range. The north-west side features the Dragonja river and Gulf of Piran. The south features Cape Kamenjak and the amazing archipelago. Combined, those are making the Istrian triangle.

In business, the is triangle often used to show 3 pillars of corporate sustainability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It has three main pillars: economic, environmental, and social – something that people of Istria cherish in their growth and development.

On symbol level, the ∇ (nabla) is a triangular symbol resembling an inverted Greek delta, the opposite of “differences”, used in differential geometry to denote a connection. Connections, not differences, something of which Istria is proud of when it comes to the relationships between people.

Also, ∇is available in standard HTML as ∇ making its usage extremely easy. 🙂
