From the conversation with Sandi Orbanić, owner of Latus dairy:
For a long time no one knew we existed.
We started in 2001 with the production of fresh milk. Over time, we expanded to producing yogurt and cheese. Today we produce more than 20 different products and employing about 30 people and work with 18 milk suppliers. We love working with our people.
Our cheeses can be found in Zagreb, Dalmatia, Slovenia and Austria. We don’t even offer as much as they come and ask for it. The quality of milk in Istria is high, but we should encourage the association of producers so that they can produce more milk.
The ones with vision and desire are going to succeed. It is important to go only forward and not stop – to die, but not to stop!– Sandi Orbanić, owner of Latus Diary
A small family firm located in Žminj at the heart of Istria. Only a kilometre from the main Pula – Pazin road.
Surrounded by pastures, at the hill above the village of Orbanići, Latus dairy has been producing high quality dairy products based on its own cows’ milk since the end of the last century and other farmers’ milk from all over Istria for the last ten years.
Following the trends in the dairy production the dairy has been investing a great deal in its development and growth, although the base remains constantly the same, that is, tradition, nature and family.
The ones with vision and desire are going to succeed. It is important to go only forward and not stop – to die, but not to stop!– Sandi Orbanić, owner of Latus Dairy
